Greetings Tall_One ~
I am new to this forum but I thought it necessary to inquire of you or anyone, your thoughts about todays match: J. Henin-Hardenne d A. Myskina 7/5 5/7 8/6
I, personally saw it as an insult to women's professional tennis. I could go into techincal problems that I see with Myskina's game and for her to be ranked as high as she is, is absolutely amazing. I wonder where she would be if the Williams' sisters, Davenport, Capriati, Clijsters, JHA where all healthy and at the top of their respective games?
Losing 6/8 after having a double break in your pocket is almost as bad as Jana Novatna losing to Chandra Rubin ala Roland Garros serving 5-0 (40-15) in the final set.

Welcome to the board Coach, I'm Nicki I didn't get to see the Henin/Myskina match but heard that is was not a pretty match to behold. I do think it is sad that the Myskina and Demetieva can do so well and got so high in the rankings with the poor serve they have makes womens tennis look pffff i can't find the right word, it makes it seem like a joke though. The mens field is so deep and the women's isn't even close. If if the Williams' sisters, Davenport, Capriati, Clijsters and Henin where healthy they would be ranked 7th and 8th, which is still too high for people who serve like that. I don't like the Williams, henin or Capriati that much, but tennis desperately needs them to get healthy and back on track

Very interesting that you should remark on your less than admirable feelings about some of these women. I certainly have my favorites as well. I got into tennis when Chrissy, Martina and others were at the top. I saw the coming of age for Steffi and then Monica. Those were the good ole days by my standards. Granted, the ladies are hitting the ball much harder these days but they just don't have the appeal again as I see it. I make students watch tennis tapes and frequently pause to ask questions about tactics. Anybody can learn to hit hard, but only a few understand the game. There was a time that I enjoyed the women's game more than the men's game but now, I can hardly watch the women play without feeling disgusted. All I keep thinking is, these ladies are making too much money to be playing at a level which is flourished with unforced errors.
Jennifer Cap. was a hero in my eyes at one time. When she made her strong comeback grabbing the Aussy Open and then following it up with the French brought tears to my eyes. Obviously, her candle has burned out and she never displayed any real tennis intelligents on the court.
The Williams' are too divided with other things in their lives. Which is sad, because they are still young and if I were their Coach, I would tell them "Tennis 100%, retire at 30 and run for President if you want".

I can´t believe the men results..... Patricia Tarabini said it was the happiest moment in her tennis career, to obtain this medal (bronze) for her country. And her tennis career is really long, with many success! It was so nice of her!
