Do you use both hands sometimes? Maybe playing the backhand, specially if you are not too strong.
When using both hands is not only the power but the hability counts too. So my trick is this. Spent some time everyday hitting the ball with the other hand, if you´re right handed, use the left, or vice-versa. Don´t try to make fantastic shots, just get your second hand used to the heigh of the raquet and the feeling of hitting the ball.

ohhh Bruce...thank u for the advice!!!.. ;D Maybe now, I can improve my backhand!!..I play on hard court, and when the ball come to me not too high..I get to hit it with only one hand very well..even I get good points, but..when the ball is high..it is impossibleeeeee...I need the other hand to hit...

I hope it will be usefull to you I practice twenty minutes to the wall, and sometimes with the machine too. Don´t stand so close to the wall like when using your good hand, so you will give the ball more time to come to you. When you get experience with your other hand you can stand closest.

Hey everyone!! Im new here! ;D Anyways, I play with 2 hands and always have, I think that with 2 hands not only is it easier to create power, but also use the power with which your opponent hit the ball, absorb the power. A common error that alot of people do is to hit the backhand almost "smashing" the ball towards the ground, and the ball almost always goes into the net, and you should really try to "get under" the ball

I help coach our local HS team. Out of 24 kids, only two have a one-handed backhand.
I (being a one-hander) like to tease the other boys that those two are the only ones with "Big Boy" backhands. (Hey! It's a joke....) _____________
There was a year and one-half, when I was a junior, that my strokes seemed to completely desert me. In frustration one day, I started hitting with two hands on *both* sides. It worked great! Just as suddenly, about 18 months later my two-handers ... “collapsed”. I really had to work at it, but I regained my one-handers and haven’t toyed with my strokes again. (Today I still wonder if it had something to do with a sudden period of growth spurt, or something...?)

I always play one handed. I did try the two handed back hand but found it to constricting in the swing! however I have friends who use it with great affect. Although on ocaision instead of doing a backhand shot ive swaped hands and played a right handed forehand(im left handed).

I've always used a sliced backhand, just to take the pace off the game. Also, since I like to move around the court and play around with shots, it gives me more freedom with the next shot.
