Ferrari to debut F2005 in Bahrain
TSN.ca Staff
3/24/2005 Two races with a modified version of last year's F1 car is two races too many for Ferrari.
The reigning world champions, stung by the lack of pace and results in the opening races of the 2005 Formula One season, will roll out their 2005 chassis at the next race in Bahrain.
"In the next race we will be running with the new car," said Ferrari team boss Jean Todt. "The Mugello test confirmed its potential."
The decision comes one day after Michael Schumacher completed his first ever test with the new car and gave it thumbs up. Teammate Rubens Barrichello also tested the new car for one day this week and gave his seal of approval. Todt says the team will bring four of the new cars to Bahrain, two each for Barrichello and Schumacher, while last year's modified chassis, the F2004 M, will also make the trip as the team's backup car.
"The contrasting results of the first two races gave us a positive incentive," added Todt. "Along with Bridgestone, we decided to accelerate the development programme and we believe that the combination of various new elements - car and tire - will allow us to move back on the attack after two Grand Prixs on the defensive."
Renault has won the first two races of the Championship while Schumacher, winner of 13 of last year's 18 races, has just two points and Ferrari find themselves in fourth place in the Constructors Championship with 10 points behind Toyota and Red Bull Racing.

Since Ferrari F2001 debut, all the Ferrari cars win in their debut race. Today MS starts in second place, would he be able to make this car debut with a victory too?

I think Renault did a great job during winter, but they are not the only who defeated Ferrari.

The F-2005 won in Indianapolis! Their fans should be proud! Of course... they were only competing with Jordan and Minardi
