There were two defaults yesterday. Malisse and Phillipousis. What was up there? I heard Xavier Malisse said something offensive to an ump [which Malisse said wasn't true] but what about Mark Phillipousis?
Arrrgh, that Malisse match should've been aired. lol.

Bjorkman-Mirnyi Capture First Title in Miami © Getty Images Third seeds Jonas Bjorkman and Max Mirnyi captured their first title together after defeating defending champions Wayne Black and Kevin Ullyett 6-1, 6-2 in the final of the NASDAQ-100 Open in Miami. Bjorkman and Mirnyi took just 56 minutes to win the title, the first in Miami for Bjorkman and the second for Mirnyi, who won the doubles title with Roger Federer in 2003. Bjorkman was twice a runner-up at the Tennis Center at Crandon Park with Todd Woodbridge (2001, 2004). It was the 38th career doubles for Bjorkman and the 21st for Mirnyi. Black-Ullyett, the reigning Australian Open champions, were looking to claim their second title of the year. They also were attempting to become the first pair to successfully defend the Miami title since Woodbridge and Mark Woodforde won three consecutive titles between 1995-97. Black was looking to claim his third title in Miami, having won with Sandon Stolle in 1999 and Ullyett last year. WHAT THE PLAYERS SAID: Mirnyi: "I guess it's a confirmation, a reassurance of us being somewhat a prominent team. It's good to be playing well and have good expectations, but it's the other thing of winning a major title like this one. So we've known each other for such a long time, but it's finally good to win one together. Bjorkman: "It's sweet. Obviously, you always want to win every tournament, and I never won here before. Last year was the third time I was a runner?up, so obviously I was disappointed when I couldn't get through. So it's always sweet when you finally get a tournament like this one. This is a major tournament you want to win, so it's an extra special feeling, sort of. "We got off to a good start. I mean, Kev and Wayne are having a good start of the year, so they've had a lot of confidence; we knew that. But they're a tough team, because they're very good front?runners. So we knew we had to sort of be sharp from the beginning. We got that first break, which was important, and then from that on we saw the ball very clear today. We didn't make too many unforced errors, and played very solid in our service games. So everything sort of clicked. Put all the things together well today and took advantage of our chances."

Federer Rallies From Two Sets Down to Defeat Nadal © Getty Images Roger Federer won his 18th consecutive final when he rallied from two sets down to defeat 18-year-old Spaniard Rafael Nadal 2-6, 6-7(4), 7-6(5), 6-3, 6-1 in the final of the NASDAQ-100 Open. Following his victory at the Pacific Life Open last month, Federer won consecutive ATP Masters Series titles for the second time in two seasons, having won Hamburg and Toronto in 2004. The Swiss has won four of the past five ATP Masters Series tournaments he has contested and five of the past eight he has entered. Nadal led 4-1 in the third set and later at 5-3 in the third-set tie-break was two points from the match – but Federer clinched the third set on his first set point and then won 12 of the next 16 games to close out the match. Federer improved to 32-1 on the year – the best start to a season since John McEnroe began 1984 39-0. The Swiss improved his winning streak to 22 matches – his third 20-plus match streak in the past 10 months. Federer has won four consecutive tournaments and eight of the past nine events has entered. The INDESIT ATP 2005 Race leader has won 48 of 49 matches since the beginning of the US Open, losing only to Marat Safin in this year’s Australian Open semifinals (9-7 in the fifth after holding one match point). Federer is the first top seed to win in Miami since Pete Sampras (d. Agassi) in 1994 and earns $533,350. Nadal, who defeated Federer in the third round in Miami last year, was the youngest finalist in the history of the tournament and was attempting to become the first Spaniard to win the title. Nadal came into his first ATP Masters Series final and second career hard court final (Auckland, 2004) on a 15-match winning streak, having won back-to-back clay court titles in Costa do Sauipe and Acapulco. WHAT THE PLAYERS SAID: Roger Federer: “What he was thinking at 1-4 in the third set: Well, I'm hoping it's not going to be over in two games. That's really how I felt, because I had the feeling, you know, I was really missing my opportunities to actually get back in the match, especially in the second set. I really was hoping just to stay with him, at least maybe just one break between us. But then I got back played a few really good games. I pushed him to the tie-breaker. “I'm the most happiest person because I know I'm in the situation that I want to be in. You know, it's one thing to come back from two sets to love and then start the fifth and then in the end losing. So I'm really happy that I came back, because I've hardly ever done it in my career. This is a big moment in my career. Especially in the finals against a player of this caliber, you know, to really come back, this is not the normal thing I'm doing usually. “Maybe I played a little bit too aggressive in the beginning. So until I maybe got to actually understand how to play him, I was down a set and a break.” Rafael Nadal: "Yeah, I am happy for my tennis. I am improving. I am playing good." "But 5-3 in the tiebreak, he play one forehand on the line. But he is the No. 1, no? He won this matches and I am happy with my tennis and not too happy for the result final, no?"
