Championship Draw
Tonight will be released the Champoinship draw in Jakarta (3) and the matchs will start as soon as all the players send points (120 divided in 3 sets for the round robin and divided in 5 sets for the Semifinals and final). Extraoficially, the players who entered the Championship are: 1- Anne Keothavong 2- Zi Yan 3- Carly Gullickson 4- Yvonne Meusburger 5- Dessislava Topalova 6- Viktoriya Kutuzova 7- Hana Sromova (?) 8- Amber Liu 9- Kristie Boogert
If Sromova confirms she will not play, Boogert will replace her. These names are not official, we need to calculate the ranking after Cairo-2 and Jakarta-2. __________________

Changes for 2006 The points limitation that was not changed for 2005 season because people complained will become official starting January 2006 in LRWTT. All the players will need to change their Surface Preferences Points after the last tournament of 2005.
The lower limit of 3 points will be raised and we´re still thinking about the 150 limit, that will be decided later.

Changes for 2006 There will be some major changes in the game for 2006: a) Fed Cup: There will be 2 Fed Cups, played in each half of the year (January to June; July to December), that will be more exiting, and also as you can change your player name (and then your nationality) in July, you will be able to make new teams then. b) Points: The surface strategy points will be modified. Now you can allocate between 3 to 150 points in any surface, since January 2006 you will have to choose between 50 to 150. I know some players complained about that in the past, that´s why we didn´t introduce this modification before, but we can´t stand having players who literally can not play at any surface. If you are a tennis player you may be pathetic on grass (for example) but you can win some games, you are not a tree! c) Old Points: I know you are not 100% focused on this game, but it is a shame when a player who sends points every week loses to a player whos newest points are from April (or 7 months ago). So (as I have a record about the date when the player sent current points) players with very old points will recive a message asking her to change them before the tournament starts, and if she does not send new points, she may retire in first round because lack of training (we can figure this is lack of interest of her coach). I know that may also be rude, but I can give you a large list of players who won tournaments and they never noticed that, because the coach was not focused, and at the last time the other players were crying their lack of luck. That does not mean you are forced to to send points every week, but if your points are 10 weeks old (for example) that means 70 days, more than 2 months. Of course, If I have not enought time to send the warning (at least 36 hours before the current deadline) this will not have effect and the players will not lose. This rule applies only if I send the warning on time. NOTE: For TalkTennis players, as you do not enter too often in this board, I will send the warning via email, so I can be sure you will read it. Don´t worry about it. We are open to suggestions to improve the game.

are you going to have another Year-End champ. for the lower ranked players We always have a championship for the Top 8, but this time it wil be just an exhibition, like the real championships, with no points. We´ll make some exhibitions too, we are getting them ready. For example: Wimbledon for grass experts, Roland Garros for clay and so. Also the traditional Buenos Aires end of year and other exhibitions too.

Changes for 2007: Changes about points: 1) When a player wins a tournament, she will be forced to change points for the next tournament in the same surface. If not, she loses by walkover, but she can say she was tired after winning. 2) The tie-break rule about old/new points will be extended: if the difference is between 0 to 4 points, the tie break winner is who sent new points this season. Tournament Surfaces: 3) Clay and Hardcourt surface tournaments played in indoors will be considered like carpet, so your carpet points are also indoors points. Anyway, the amount of tournaments on each surface will be balanced. 4) There will be 4 Grand Slams (tier IV events), one per surface, you already know about that. Ranking points: 5) There will be no more quality points, like in real WTA Tour. 6) First round loosers in doubles will recive 1 point since now, no complete round points anymore. Fed Cup: No changes here: two Fed Cup during the year, played during the same weeks than 2006. Only lower events for the other players during these weeks. Notice: There will be a Doubles Championship in January with 8 teams: The best 8 ranked playrers will pick a partner (anybody). If any of the qualified players picks another qualified (example: Afinogenova picks Minella) then the 9th ranked enters and picks a partner. And so, until reaching 8 teams.
